We present a walk with no appreciable difficulties that might be considered easy and suitable for anyone used to walking. It isn't too long a walk, but it's not a short one. Let's describe it: We start the path in the square of the Los Damunts district of Alaró. The square, so you can identify it properly, is cobbled, it has a metal drinking fountain and a telephone box. We start walking northwards, with a little stream bed on our right. To begin with, the track is tarmacked, but the tarmac finishes after no more than 10 minutes, just as we arrive at the Font de la Vila. The drinking fountain, to the left of the path, has a protected cavity and dates from Arab times. We take the main path leading towards Orient. It is a wide path leading through the olive grove. To start with, it is almost flat and then it begins to climb, although it is wide and impossible to get lost. The path begins to become winding and approaches the wood (pine and holm oak wood). At a point, properly indicated with a sign, we have to leave it for a small path heading off to the left, climbing and clearly entering the wood. It's the old path from Alaró to Orient that climbs, with a dried up stream bed to the right, towards the pass between Talaia de Cals Reis (to our left) and Puig de Can Llenderina. Just before reaching the pass, the path crosses a kind of containing wall with a ladder with steps coming out of the wall diagonally. This is the Pas de s'Escaleta.
A little higher and we are at the pass, in the middle of a damp holm oak wood. At the pass, several paths meet. We have to follow the main path bearing left, which goes to Orient. When we find the turn-off that goes towards Orient, we leave it on our right and we carry on in the same direction, passing near to a wide flat area, ideal for a rest or for having lunch. We carry on in the holm oak wood, now heading away from Orient, and the path begins to climb towards the Pas de s'Estaló. Careful! The first time the rising path turns to the left, we leave the wider path to take a steeper climb to the right, with a very clear path. We carry on climbing until we find the white wall of Talaia de Cals Reis on our left and, finally Pas de s'Estaló, artificially opened in the rock. Just after the pass take care, because the path descends towards the Coanegra area, towards Santa Maria. Before going down at all, we have to take a narrow path to the left that goes off towards the Es Rafal house. The path goes around Talaia de Cals Reis without gaining or losing height and offers some spectacular views of the village of Bunyola. When we reach the Es Rafal house, currently being restored, we find some magnificent views of the plain of Mallorca, Palma, and even Cabrera, which can be seen far away. We leave Es Rafal by its main path (we have arrived the back way) and pass close to a well. A few metres further on, we have to leave the main path and take a path that climbs off to the left. This path, after a short climb, leaves Puig de Sa Bastida to the right and then starts the final descent, among olive grows, towards the drinking fountain in the village of Alaró, finishing off this pretty circular walk between Alaró and Orient.
