On the left-hand side of the road, there is a rock with some writing that says "Camí públic" (public footpath) in red. We start the walk here. Initially, the track is wide, but it soon narrows quite a bit and becomes a narrow path rising through a thick wood. We follow this route until it meets a wide path that we take to the right. We follow this path until it reaches a stone wall cutting across it, where a metal barrier is being built. We cross the wall and continue in the same direction we have followed until now. We are now in an area with a lot of charcoal burning activity, in a thick holm oak wood. After 10 minutes climbing, we find ourselves on a wide path that crosses ours (point A). We go straight on until we reach a ledge. When we reach this small ledge (there is a thrush trap), there are two paths, one of which goes down and another on the right that goes up. We take the one that goes up, walking along a narrow path that then widens out. We follow this until we reach a place where the path starts to descend (point B). We don't go down at all and instead take a faint path up to the right, just at the highest point of the wide track. This new small path climbs quite a bit to start with but later flattens out, even going down at times. The direction of the path is always taking us away from the Orient valley. When the holm oak wood ends and is replaced by a stony landscape, the path starts to go up steeply again and soon brings us to the repeater masts. To climb to the summit, we have to go right, on a wide path following the Orient slope (we mustn't move on to the Sóller slope). We leave a first peak behind and we will then see the final summit we have to climb. The final climb isn't very long, but it is quite steep. It's worth it, though! The whole final climb is marked by piles of stones and red spots.
We will return by the same path we have come up on. I should say that we have to be very alert so as not to get lost from the flat area around the masts down to the wide path. Follow the stone markers carefully and, when you are coming up, take a good look, because coming down the route is very hard to pick out!.
